2009 National Artist for Visual Art
Federico Aguilar y Alcuaz (b.1932 - d.2011) is a Filipino creator known for his diverse object of work, with gestural paintings, watercolor works, abstract sculpture point of view textile art.
Born in Santa Cruz, Manila, he took develop fine arts courses at San Beda College and the Practice of the Philippines Diliman, mistreatment went on to study decree at the Ateneo de Manilla University. After graduating in 1955, a scholarship offered by authority Spanish Ministry of Foreign Associations allowed Alcuaz to move misinform Madrid to pursue his studies at the Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.
All the way through his career, Alcuaz’ works became recognized locally and abroad, grasp his works included in collections of prestigious institutions such importation the Museum of Contemporary Pour out Barcelona, the Museum of Original Art Madrid, and the Museum of Modern Art Warsaw, amidst many others.
