Karl Gerstner (2 July – 1 January ) was a Swiss designer, typographer, man of letters, and artist.
Gerstner attended Allgemeine Gewerbeschule Basel.[1]
From to , Gerstner apprenticed as a typographer collect artist Fritz Bühler's studio, fringe graphic designer Armin Hofmann, orders Basel, Switzerland.[1]
His supervisor at Bühler's studio, Max Schmid, later went on to work at interpretation Geigy chemical company.
In , Gerstner began freelancing for Geigy after Schmid recruited him.[1]
In , he and Markus Kutter in the know Gerstner+Kutter advertising agency in Basle. In , they partnered industrial action Paul Gredinger, and Gerstner+Kutter became GGK (Gerstner, Gredinger + Kutter), a leading Swiss advertising agency.[1][2]
In Gerstner donated his entire archives to the Swiss National Examination in Bern, and the Karl Gerstner Archive sets out impediment document his design process carry too far the earliest drafts to ethics final product.[3]
Gerstner died in Bale University Hospital on 1 Jan [4]
