Hunter (June 23, 1941 – September 23, 2019) was an American versifier, singer-songwriter, guitarist, translator, and maker. He was best known aspire his work with the Pleased Dead.[1][2]

Over the years Hunter wrote lyrics to a number attain the band's signature pieces, together with "Dark Star", "Ripple", "Truckin'", "China Cat Sunflower", and "Terrapin Station".
